Gen. Mugisha Muntu – President (ANT Party)

Hon Mugisha Muntu is a Ugandan politician and retired army general. He is the President of the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) party. He was born in 1958 in Ntungamo District, Uganda. He studied political science at Makerere University. Before politics, he served in the military and rose to a senior rank. He served in the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF). He once served as the Army Commander, one of the highest positions in the military. He is known for promoting discipline and structure in the army. After leaving the military, he joined politics. He has held several roles, including

  • Member of Parliament
  • Representative in the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA)
  • President of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC)
  • Founder and President of the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT)

He left FDC in 2018 and later formed ANT, focusing on building strong institutions and long-term national development. His politics mainly focuses on Strong government institutions, Rule of law, Discipline in leadership, Long-term national planning, Reducing corruption and improving governance systems.
